August 6th, 2026 – The R&D World presented the top 100 inventions, acknowledging time-of-flight cascade gamma-ray imaging (TOF-CGI) as one of the winners in the category of software/service. The awarded software POSSUM is an image reconstruction framework that includes TOF-CGI, enabling PET scanners to visualize non-positron emitters for the first time by exploiting the gamma cascades emitted by targeted alpha therapy radionuclides such as Ac-225. July 10th, 2026 – NIH awarded us the R21 project entitled "Exploiting time-of-flight in photon cascade emissions for direct imaging of therapeutic radionuclides" (1R21EB037871-01A1). During the next two years we will explore cascade gamma-ray imaging techniques at the laboratory bench in order to develop novel imaging modalities that rely on fast timing detection of gamma-ray cascades.
June 2nd, 2026 – We presented the first clinical images of Ac-225 in a PET scanner after prostate cancer therapy with 225Ac-PSMA-617.
This is the first demonstration of imaging of non-positron emitters in PET scanners to achieve high sensitivity and low noise. See the full presentation here.

November 7th, 2025 – We presented our simulation work on TOF-CGI of Ac-225 phantoms providing a theoretical proof-of-concept that imaging of Ac-225 is possible in PET scanners. The abstract is publicly accessible here.
